Industries we insure

Draft for review

Businesses ask us for coverage because a contract, a landlord, a license, or a payroll rule requires it. The groups below are the ones we hear most often in Jacksonville and Middleburg. Each blurb is original. None of them is a price.

What it covers

A way to find the right guide. Every group links to the coverage page that usually comes first, and to the quote form.

What it doesn't cover

A promise that a company will write the class. A list of carriers. A specialty program we have not said we place.

Florida specifics

Construction follows the workers' compensation rule in chapter 440. Vehicles follow the financial-responsibility rules. Professional licenses follow the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The guides linked below cite those sources.

How we help

Pick the group that fits, read the linked page, and start a quote if the work matches. Call either office if the work is unusual. We would rather hear the odd detail at the start.

Contractors and trades

Roofers, plumbers, electricians, painters, and general contractors are asked for liability, workers' compensation, a truck, and sometimes a bond before they can pull a permit or step on a job.

Transportation

Firms that move people or goods need a business auto policy, and sometimes cargo coverage. A personal auto policy is the wrong form for a vehicle that works all day.

Real estate and property

Landlords, property managers, and people who own a building they do not live in need a property form and liability. A residence policy stops fitting once the building is a rental or a commercial unit.

Professional services

Consultants, designers, bookkeepers, and other firms that sell advice need a conversation about professional liability. A general liability policy does not cover a financial loss from a mistake in the work.

Retail and hospitality

Shops, restaurants, and small lodging businesses usually start with a business owners policy: liability, contents, and the question of what happens if a storm closes the door.

Healthcare

Clinics and practices often need professional liability and a cyber form, because they hold records as well as see patients. Ask which of those this agency can place. We will not call a general liability policy a medical form.

Manufacturing and wholesale

A plant or a warehouse needs the building, the stock, the equipment, and workers' compensation. Tools and goods that leave the building may need inland marine.

Nonprofits

Churches, youth groups, and other nonprofits need liability for guests and often directors and officers coverage for the board. Employees still raise a workers' compensation question.

Other

If the work is not in a group above, start with the business hub and tell us what you do in plain language. The class codes can wait until we understand the work.

Questions people ask

Do you insure every business in these groups?

We can shop many of them. A company decides by the work, the address, and the losses. A group on this page is a way to find the right guide. It is not a promise of an appointment.

What if my work fits two groups?

Start with the one that matches the payroll and the contracts. A contractor who also owns the shop building needs the contractor page and a property conversation. Tell us both.

Where did the old industry pages go?

They come here. One page, with a link to the coverage that the work usually needs, and a way to start a quote.

What should I send?

What you do, in a few sentences, how many people you pay, and any contract that names a limit. That is enough to tell you which policies to shop.
