Life insurance pays a beneficiary when the insured person dies, if the policy is in force. Long-term care insurance helps pay for care if you cannot manage daily living on your own. They are not auto or home policies, and they are not something this website can price.
Whether Erwin Insurance Agency can place them is still open. The property and casualty work in the rest of this site is what the offices do every day. Life and long-term care stay on this short page until that question is answered.
What it covers
Term life covers a stated period. People use it to protect a mortgage or the years children are at home. Whole life is permanent and includes cash value under the contract rules. Either one pays a death benefit to the people you name, subject to the contestable period and the exclusions in the policy. Long-term care pays, up to its limit, for qualifying care after its own waiting period.
What it doesn't cover
A car, a house, a lawsuit, or a hospital bill while you are otherwise healthy. Life insurance is not a savings account you should describe that way without reading the contract. Long-term care is not a promise that every facility will be paid in full. The daily or monthly limit is on the policy.
Florida specifics
Life and health policies in Florida are regulated by the Office of Insurance Regulation. The Department of Financial Services takes consumer questions. A policy sold in this state has to be one the agent is licensed and appointed to sell. That license is not the same license as a home or auto appointment. We will not blur that line on this site.
How we help
Call either office and ask. If we can take an application, we will tell you what information a company will ask, including health questions. If we cannot, we will say that clearly and help you understand what to ask the person who can. Please do not use the property quote form for this. Check Other only if you want us to call you back about it.
